More good news: FSSP stats :)

Rorate Caeli has the story here:

Total: 413 (incl. 252 incardinated)
• Priests: 253
o 236 incardinated
o 11 incorporated ad annum
o 1 associated
o 5 postulants
• Deacons: 16
• Non-deacons seminarians (including postulants): 144
• Average age of members: 37 years
• Deceased members: 7

It’s not the SSPX, but we’ll take it. :)

And just a gentle reminder, here are the SSPX stats:

And now let’s look at the Jesuits, shall we? 😉

Looks like more good news!

In 2014, number of Jesuit male religious down 52% from peak in 1966 (36,038 v 17,287)..

Of the above, only 12,298 priests. ;)

So I asked the question:If only we could know their average age. ;) (I’m betting 70+)

And in the spirit of “ask, and ye shall receive”, a friend from the Harvesting the Fruits blog, Indignus Famulus came to the rescue.

Dear S.Armaticus:

Wikipedia says–On 1 January 2007, their average age was 57.3 years: 63.4 years for priests, 29.9 years for scholastics, and 65.5 years for brothers.
Add 7 years and looks like you’re spot on again. :-)

Nuff said 🙂
