Pope and Polar Bear

The Polar Bear gets it!

Ran across this article on the Rush Limbaugh website. (see here)

Here is the first relevant passage: (emphasis added)

There’s a new story out, and it’s from Reuters: “Most Americans See Combating Climate Change As A Moral Duty.” Oh, really? How can this possibly be when most Americans don’t even think it’s anything real anymore? Well over 55, 60% don’t even think it’s real. And of the people who think it’s real, it’s way down on the list of important issues. It’s not the top issue that the left wishes it were.

Yep. Those poll results must be “real”, but in an “alternative reality” sort of way. Come to think of it, the Reuters poll must be “real” in the same way that the German Bishops’ Conference claiming that allowing communion for serial adulterer and promoting aberro-sexual liaisons will be good for business Christian unity is “real”. But more on that later…

But it gets better.

Yet here’s Reuters: “A significant majority of Americans say combating climate change is a moral issue that obligates them — and world leaders — to reduce carbon emissions, a Reuters/IPSOS poll has found.” This has to be bogus. Moral issue? And you know what they’re bouncing this off of? Pope Francis.

OK, I get it now. And of course these Reuters/IPSOS polling results are in fact “bogus”, but only in an “objective reality” sort of “bogus”. In an “alternative reality” sort of way, this does not necessarily have to be the case.

But if the pope says it’s a moral issue, therefore it must be a moral issue. Besides the pope is “infallible”, right? Well, in an “alternative reality” sort of way, I guess he is.

With respect to “objective reality”, Rush takes this above cited “idiocy” to its rightful conclusion:

But all of a sudden the pope talked about the need to save the planet and to focus on climate. All of a sudden the pope is infallible. Let the pope speak up for the unborn, and the pope may as well be a Nazi. Let the pope speak up for the unborn, let the pope speak up for the Catholic religion, let him wish everybody be converted to it, and the guy is hated and despised. And the next day the pope comes out and says climate change is a moral issue, and all of a sudden the Drive-Bys love the guy and we get a poll backing it up.

Yep. That’s the ticket.

And since we are on the subject of bogus polls, idiocy and the German Bishops’ Conference and various forms of “reality”, just a quick reminder of the “idiocy” that the German hierarchy are trying to foist on the Holy Roman Catholic Church as explained by Markus Günther writing on December 29, 2014 in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (see here) via The Radical Catholic blog:

But why are the seekers no longer finding guidance? Why are the supply and demand no longer jibing? The most popular answer to this question is: because the Church is no longer relevant to the times. She must conform more closely to the realities of the lives of modern people. Initially, that sounds plausible, but under closer scrutiny reveals itself to be idiocy. For the Evangelical church in Germany has done nearly everything which is being demanded from the Catholic Church in order to become more relevant to the times: women priests, the elimination of celibacy, liberality in moral theology, the complete acceptance of homosexuals and the divorced. If these were the real reasons for the malaise of Christendom, the Protestants should be far better off than the Catholics. But that simply isn’t the case. A second error in thinking is introduced by the popular buzzword “relevant to the times” [German: zeitgemäß, which can mean “modern,” “suitable,” or even “appropriate,” and often carries all of these shades when applied to the Church]: Wherever the Church does not base herself upon timeless, incontrovertible truth, she reveals herself to be purely man-made. Political programs should be “relevant to the times,” entertainment programming, too; but a religion must take command of absolute truths – or it is no religion at all.

Notice how Herr Günther described the Bergoglian/Kasperian “hate theology done on the knees”?

For those who missed it, the word used was: “idiocy”

In other words, Herr Günther is dealing here with “objective reality”.

And this appeared in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung !

So what’s the take away from all this? Simple.

the Bergoglian/Kasperian “hate theology done on the knees” won’t work!

And what is worse, they all know it won’t work!

And while we are on the subject of things that don’t work and other things that do work, always will work and have a proven track record of working, here is a passage from Fr. Z on the topic of the booming vocations in Madison Wisconsin, as published in the Madison State Journal with Fr. Z comments and emphasis (see here):

The Madison diocese has a “remarkable” number of seminarians for its size, she said.

[Quaeritur…] Why the local success? Morlino has made priestly vocations — the spiritual call to serve — a priority. He increased the position of director of vocations to full time, and he routinely promotes the priesthood at functions.

But there could be more to it. [Here we go!] The very traits that have made Morlino controversial may be the reason he’s successful at recruiting new priests, Hendershott’s research suggests.

[Keep going…] Bishops who are unambiguous about church doctrine and don’t tolerate dissent tend to inspire the greatest number of vocations, said Hendershott, who references Morlino positively in her book. [Notice how the writer worked in the concept of “tolerance”.  It’s not that he defends or teaches sound doctrine, is’s that he doesn’t “tolerate dissent”.  What is the reader supposed to take away from that?  Watch where the article goes next…]

“I’d hesitate to call them culture warriors, but they know what they stand for,” [Remember… amongst liberals it’s a bad thing to be a cultural warrior.] said Hendershott, a sociology professor at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. “If you are considering the priesthood, you’d want to see that. [NB]You don’t want to commit yourself to something that’s backed only halfway.” [Exactly.  It’s common sense.  But wait!  There’s more…]

You see, dear reader, it’s just that simple.

Isn’t “objective reality” beautiful?

Come to think of it, can this be the reason for why Our Lord said that “the gates of hell shall not prevail”?

Think about that for a minute or two.
