Today I am still catching up with my posting. For all the new followers of this blog, especially on the Twitter platform, I have been posting daily, leading up to the Synod of Bishops that will commence on MONDAY the 5th of October of this year.
Today, we are actually 161 days from the start of what we call the Stealth Sex Synod of 2015 on this blog. However, due to a busy travel schedule, I have been unable to keep up and when that happens, I make an attempt to catch up. Today is a catch up day, hence the first post is labeled T -163. Hope that clears up any confusion.
As for today’s subject matter, I will start with a re-blog from the Rorate Caeli blog of a post dealing with the Immemorial Mass of all Ages and the upcoming exposition of the Holy Shroud of Turin. (see here) The significance of this event is that no less than 25 TLM’s will be offered during this period. As I see it, this will the highest concentration of TLM’s in the Turin area since that dreadful year 1969. (see here)
A further significance of this large turnout is that it would appear that the “excitement” level for the below indicated events in Turin is exceptionally high and there would appear to be no sign of any “terror threat” stopping participation nor attendance. This last point is made in direct contrast to the abysmal attendance numbers of papal general audiences and numbers of faithful attending papal appearances in St. Peter’s Square. (see here)
So without further delay:
Event: TLM celebrations for the Holy Shroud
From the Associazione Cardinal Saldarini:
Following our appeal made in January, the “Associazione Cardinal Saldarini” of Turin received communications about more than 25 masses in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite that will be held by various traditional groups (including ICRSP, FSSP, and a pilgrimage of the London Oratory led by Fr. Uwe Lang) in different locations in Turin for the exposition of the Holy Shroud (April 19 – June 25, 2015).
Among many celebrations, a particular mention should be made for the Pontifical Low Mass that will be celebrated in the church of the Arciconfraternita della Misericordia in Turin by Mgr. Guido Pozzo, secretary of the “Ecclesia Dei” Commission, on May 3, 2015, with the musical assistance of the Schola Sainte-Cécile of Paris. The Schola Sainte-Cécile will also celebrate in the same church sung Masses during their pilgrimage to the Shroud, from April 30 to May 2, with a musical program including Missa Exultate Deo of Cosset, Missa Regia of Dumont, Missa Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam of Campra and Hassler’s Missa Secunda.
The full calendar (that will be constantly updated as long as the news of further celebrations arrive) of TLM celebrations during the Holy Shroud’s exposition is available by clicking here.
If a group of pilgrims wishes to add their celebration to the calendar, or is in need of assistance in order to find a suitable place in Turin for their celebration, they may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Long live Eternal Rome!
