Here is how the before and after word clouds for Laudato Sii look.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
Can you spot the word “Jesus” in the “theologically structured” version of the encyclical? PS I circled it.
As you dear reader will no doubt notice, your humble blogger took out the “Page” from the Laudato Sii, but kept the settings at the most frequent 150 words. So “God” comes up to third most used word, after “human” and “world”.
As we can see, Jesus plays a minor role in this encyclical. Actually, we can rightfully claim that Jesus is a “prop” in this one. Jesus first appears in paragraph 82 and appears a grand total of 23 times out of 40,574 words with headings, footnotes and songs included. This strikes me as a bit odd since Jesus is central to the “teaching magisterium” of Francis. Here is a good example from the 22nd of January of this year: (see here)
That Jesus is savior and intercessor is the central point, and we do well to remember this. “Thus, the crowd seeks Jesus with that instinctive sense of hope that is proper to the people of God, which was at that time awaiting the Messiah, and they look to find in Him health, truth, salvation, for He is the Savior and as Savior even now, at this moment, intercedes for us. That our Christian life might be ever more convinced that we are saved, that we have a Savior, Jesus at the right hand of the Father, interceding. May the Lord, the Holy Spirit, make us understand these things.”
Apparently Jesus as intercesor and provider of hope in not required with respect to global warming. Which taken at face value, is a positive takeaway from this “encyclical”.
The word clouds above look like the same BS collages we were creating in our CCD classes back in the 70’s. Is Petrus R. is in the house? JESUS hear us! JESUS graciously hear us! (in the biggest boldest letters)

It does have a strong resemblance.
But in all honesty, what the word cloud should remind you of is your English class (writing composition) , where you had to write a paper on a certain subject (theme). What the word cloud is nothing more than a teachers aid that allow for determining just what the theme of the document is. If one stops to think about it for a minute, if you write a paper about the American Revolution, naturally Thomas Jefferson would be a big part. So naturally the words Thomas and Jefferson should figure prominently. And then there will no doubt be a secondary theme, signing Dec of Independence. Therefore, one would expect that the DoI figures also in the word composition, just not as often. And so forth and so forth.
The amazing thing about this encyclical is actually not so much that references to Jesus are ignored, effectively non existent. The really disturbing thing about it is that Bergoglio has effectively eliminated Jesus from this document, while during the entire pontificate almost singularly making Jesus as his focus. He is know to say that only Jesus counts and things of that nature. So give this, it would indicate that Bergoglio…. in Catholic terms…. doesn’t have a devotion to Jesus. Which would mean that his devotion is to the other minor figure that Bergoglio bring up every now and then, i.e. his “god” of surprises. And we know that his “g”ofs is nothing more than a deus ex machina, i.e. it is he himself.
Therefore, I think the implications of this development are huge, and provide an exact picture of the mans mindset.
Sorry for running long….

With respect to the “Encyclical”: Does the word “Christ” or “Jesus Christ” appear at all? I can hardly imagine a pre-conciliar encyclical without either of those words.
A quick comment from the Francis quote: “That our Christian life might be ever more convinced that we are SAVED.”?
Doesn’t this sound awfully, let’s say, ehem, PROTESTANT? The protestant notion of salvation is merely accepting Christ as “Saviour”, not being in the state of grace at the moment of death.

“Christ” appears 14 times.
Protestant, this encyclical ain’t. I would place this more in the category of an “animist” document. The “great chief in the sky” type of thing…
