Shaka Zulu I AttackToday we continue with our theme of the NORMALIZATION PROCESS™ in the ecclesiological area of human endeavor. Furthermore, I will begin with the SSPX/Vatican “recognition” discussions as our starting point.

However, from time to time, it is a good idea to take a step back and… survey the battlefield as it were. Therefore, this post is more an attempt to tie in some of the information (DATA POINTS) that we have observed of late, in order to get a better idea of the overall battlefield situantion at present. One can consider this post as being a Vatican battlefield situation report.

So let’s get cracking.

When looking over my favorite blogs yesterday, the SSPX/Vatican “recognition” discussions were the subject of many posts. To give you, dear reader an idea of just how many, here is the list in on timeline starting from the original source article which appeared in the German weekly Die Zeit:

The reason that I am bringing the above to your attention is due to a piece of information (DATA POINT) that came across my radar on the 29th of July, 2016. The source is the Global Pulse Magazine and the post is titled: Church opposition to Pope Francis ‘strong and significant:’ Schönborn (see here). The subject matter of this post is an interview that the official FrancisInterpreter Cardinal Christoph Schönborn OP gave to the Austria daily Der Standard.

Furthermore, today, the OnePeterFive blog also has a post about this subject matter with more of the Schönborn interview translated. (see here) The title of their post is: Cardinal Schönborn: Francis Wants to Win Over Opposition in Loving Ways.

Given these two headlines, the question then becomes: Who is this ‘strong and significant’ opposition and where did it come from? To answer these questions, another timeline is in order. Please allow me to set it out for you below: (emphasis and added emphasis)

Global Pulse Magazine –‘No turning back’

Archbishop Fernandez, in the two years since the pontificate began has resistance to the pope inside the Vatican increased or diminished?

“I don’t live in Rome and I can only talk about what I see when I go there. You have to make distinctions. I saw that some people in Rome were shocked at first, but now they understand the meaning of what Francis is calling for and they’re happy to be part of this path (he’s set out) for the Church, and they are helping the pope. Others tend to say: we’ll do what we can, go along with him as long as he’s here, because in the end he’s the pope. This group seems to be in the majority, even though I can’t confirm that. Others — really just a few — are, instead, going their own way. And from what one can see, they tend to ignore Francis’ teachings.”

Global Pulse Magazine Church opposition to Pope Francis ‘strong and significant:’ Schönborn

“We are currently witnessing intensive inner-church debates – not so much in Austria, but internationally – as there is quite evidently very strong, significant opposition to Pope Francis,” the 71-year-old cardinal told the Austrian daily Der Standard last week before heading to Krakow for World Youth Day festivities with the pope.

So now, the question becomes: WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT ???????

Allow me to rephrase the above question.

How is it, that in the course of 14 months, TEAMFRANCIS went from downplaying any opposition to FRANCIS, into being forced to admit that in fact avery strong, significant opposition” indeed EXISTS?

To transition between these two extremes, another DATA POINT is in order. This DATA POINT come via the OnePeterFive Blog and is titled: A Glimpse Behind the Scenes in Rome. Here is the pertinent passage:

3 November, 2015

(…) This person relayed to me what they have been told: during the Synod, Pope Francis was, in fact, dead set on finding a way to give communion to the divorced and remarried.

Only there was a problem.

There was too much push back on the issue, and it was quite aggressive. Another source has revealed to me that news of the Synod Walkout petition made it all the way to the Holy Father himself, who was upset to hear of its existence. He appears to think he has his finger on the pulse of the Church, and is therefore surprised, even”rattled” when his agenda faces real opposition.

As to how Francis and TEAMFRANCIS resolved this quite unexpected situation, we read further:

Several progressive cardinals are said to have advised Pope Francis not to push the issue too hard. Surprising names. Marx. Daneels. Schönborn. Those whom one would think would be among the most aggressive proponents of the push for communion to the unrepentant. But these men have a great deal of experience playing the long game. They have all worked to advance heterodoxy without losing their positions. They recognized that the media backlash could be significant if they made the wrong play, as could the reaction from the faithful. (Please note for future reference)

So these passages above clearly layout the FRANCISSTRATEGY adopted by TEAMFRANCIS going forward. They also allow one to clearly explain why TEAMFRANCIS was forced to stop ignoring the opposition, and had to admit that they have a PROBLEM. And the reason that they had to admit that they have a PROBLEM is that they COULD NOT HIDE the “true new situation” (HYPOTHESIS) from the “faithful” any longer.

The SUPPORTING EVIDENCE for the above HYPOTHESIS comes by way of the Fr. Karl Stehlin’s homily that I transcribed and posted under the title: The SSPX Wants To Know, Who’s On First? (see here) Here is the pertinent passage:

When we (SSPX), our superiors have the meetings in Rome or the visits of the bishops and priests, sometimes also working in the Vatican, they (Vatican employees) say ‘we also in the Vatican, we receive contradictory things. We say today this, this should be done. Tomorrow the pope says just the contrary. And the people come to us, what’s happening now, what’s the voice of Rome?’ So there is a voice of contradiction, therefore it’s a voice of confusion.

From the above, we clearly see a Vatican in what can be termed a crisis management mode. Here is more background:

We think, and many of the superiors think, I talked to them, that these horrible times, of such a confusion, which has, even since Vatican II never been inside the Church, because really, it’s such a mess. The people in the Vatican, they fight with one another. They almost, they would like to kill one another. There are so many, many… not only differences, but it’s getting outside and you see very well that one is getting… really very bad because the other say that. And this cardinal against cardinal, bishops against the pope and so on. Especially the last official document Amoris Laetitia is so scandalous. I don’t want to explain it now, it’s not the place here, at this moment, but you can see that here, you must really see that, amongst … we see about 30 cardinals and archbishops at the moment, and that’s .. 5 years ago, that had never existed in the Church, are full of resolution and determined not to allow such a false teaching, which comes even from the pope. So you see things happening in Rome that never existed since the last 50 years. A true new situation. (see here)

Given the above, we can now identify the “quite evidently very strong, significant opposition to Pope Francis” is comprised of “about 30 cardinals and archbishops at the moment,(…) are full of resolution and determined not to allow such a false teaching, which comes even from the pope.

Which leaves one question still open, namely how is this “true new situation“, “getting outside“?

For this answer, we venture over to the Vox Cantoris blog, and a post titled Father Tom Rosica receives prestigious reward from New York media group (see here). In this post, we have the transcripts of a speech given by the “un-official” press secretary of TEAMFRANCIS, one Fr. Thomas Rosica. In the passage below, the most likely channel of communication that is allowing the “true new situation“, to “getting outsideis as follows:

“The Digital World and Catholic Blogosphere”…the big battlefield before humanity is also the digital world:

You only need a keyboard, a screen or a hand-held device. In the wild, crazy world of the blogosphere, … there is no accountability, no code of ethics, and no responsibility for one’s words and actions.  It can be an international weapon of mass destruction, crossing time zones, borders and space. In its wake is character assassination, destruction of reputation, calumny, libel, slander and defamation. … “Catholics” have turned the Internet into a cesspool of hatred, venom and vitriol, … character assassination on the Internet by those claiming to be Catholic and Christian has turned it into a graveyard of corpses strewn all around. Often times the obsessed, scrupulous, self-appointed, nostalgia-hankering virtual guardians of faith or of liturgical practices are very disturbed, broken and angry individuals, who never found a platform or pulpit in real life and so resort to the Internet and become trolling pontiffs and holy executioners!  In reality they are deeply troubled, sad and angry people. … The light of Christ reflected in the Church must not become the privilege of only a few elect who float enclosed within a safe harbor or ghetto network of communications for the elite, the clean, the perfect and the saved.  This would be a “church clique” or a “personal blog” or “chat room” more than an ecclesial community.

Given the above explanatin by the not only “c”atholic, but purportedly “Christian” Fr. Tom, it would appear that this international weapon of mass destruction, crossing time zones, borders and space, or as Fr. Tom termed it, the “digital world”, (internet and the Catholic blogosphere to you and me) has Francis and TEAMFRANCIS “rattled”.

We can easily observe this PHENOMENON from the amount of written posts (15 make that 16) derived from ONE interview with Archbishop Pozzo appearing in the German language newspaper Die Zeit as per timeline above. And TEAMFRANCIS is not happy.

Numquam Ponenda est Pluralitas Sine Necessitate!
