I received a comment in the comment section from Halina, a long time reader of this blog. The reason that I am giving it the honor of being included in a post is that I think it very accurately captures the “zeitgeist” of the men and women who are still Faithful, but have found themselves in the post-conciliar church.

The problem that the sub-set of this Faithful who are the clerics and prelate have, is that they live in an environment that is self contradicting and self refuting.

The direct source of this unholy environment can be traced to Lumen gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church and one of the principal documents of the Second Vatican Council. To be more precise, the direct source and ROOT CAUSE of the above mentioned unholy environment can be traced back to the following passage of the Lumen gentium document. Actually, it can be traced back to one word. Here is the offending passage:

This is the one Church of Christ which in the Creed is professed as one, holy, catholic and apostolic, (12*) which our Saviour, after His Resurrection, commissioned Peter to shepherd,(74) and him and the other apostles to extend and direct with authority,(75) which He erected for all ages as “the pillar and mainstay of the truth”.(76) This Church constituted and organized in the world as a society, subsists in the Catholic Church, which is governed by the successor of Peter and by the Bishops in communion with him,(13*) although many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside of its visible structure. These elements, as gifts belonging to the Church of Christ, are forces impelling toward catholic unity.

Notice the word subsist?

Here is how the word “subsist” is defined:

verb (used without object)

(1.)  to exist; continue in existence.

(2.) to remain alive; live, as on food, resources, etc.

(3.) to have existence in, or by reason of, something.

(4.) to reside, lie, or consist (usually followed by in).

(5.) Philosophy.

(a.) to have timeless or abstract existence, as a number, relation, etc.

(b.) to have existence, especially independent existence.

What we see in the definition of the word “subsist”, especially in point (3.) of the above definition, is that something that subsists in is something else, is something that lives inside of something else.

Here is a graphic depiction of what this definition entails using a statistical depiction of sets and subsets:

Now that we have a very good idea of what we are dealing with when the term “subsists” appears, let us define for B and A.

According to the Lumen gentium paragraph, sub-set A is by definition:

Church of Christ which in the Creed is professed as one, holy, catholic and apostolic, (12*) which our Saviour, after His Resurrection, commissioned Peter to shepherd,(74) and him and the other apostles to extend and direct with authority,(75) which He erected for all ages as “the pillar and mainstay of the truth”.

While set B is defined by Lumen gentium as:

This Church constituted and organized in the world as a society, subsists in the Catholic Church,

So far so good?

But what is still needed is deeper understanding of what is represented by the circle labeled sub-set A. What A in fact represents is that which: He erected for all ages as “the pillar and mainstay of the truth”.

In other words, sub-set A is what is known as the Truth – with a capital “T”.

Therefore, what we have is a situation where sub-set A is populated EXCLUSIVELY by the Truth.

Yet the post-conciliar church, which is represented by the set B, is no longer exclusively populated of the Truth.

So the logical implications are that outside of sub-set A there can also be truth – small “t” variety (mathematical truth, legal truth, etc.). But not necessarily.

And what is that other thing that is not the truth and can be present in set B?

Naturally it is ERROR.

So what the Council Fathers incorporated into the Dogmatic Constitution on the post-conciliar church is the quite novel concept of the truth (A) subsisting alongside ERROR (B).

Here is that definition:

(1.) a deviation from accuracy or correctness; a mistake, as in action or speech: His speech contained several factual errors.

(2.) belief in something untrue; the holding of mistaken opinions.

(3.) the condition of believing what is not true: in error about the date.

(4.) a moral offense; wrongdoing; sin.

(5.) Baseball. a misplay that enables a base runner to reach base safely or advance a base, or a batter to have a turn at bat prolonged, as the dropping of a ball batted in the air, the fumbling of a batted or thrown ball, or the throwing of a wild ball, but not including a passed ball or wild pitch.

(6.) Mathematics. the difference between the observed or approximately determined value and the true value of a quantity.

(7.) Law.

(1.)a mistake in a matter of factor law in a case tried in a court of record.

(.2)writ of error.

And it is this incorporation of ERROR into the post-conciliar church, that now “subsists” alongside the truth and the Truth, that is creating all the cognitive dissonance among the Faithful and the clergy.

And it is just this phenomenon that my reader Halina addressed so well.

But before we get to the comment, I would just like to draw your attention to the Michael Matt video above. It provides an excellent audio-visual representation of that which is represented in the set and sub-set diagram above.

What we see in this video is a cringing apology to mask over the conflict that is created by violating the principle of non-contradiction.  What Bishop Barron is trying to do, is to claim that ERROR, which subsists in set B, does not necessarily need to infect sub-set A. Actually, what he is saying is that ERROR can live side by side with the Truth.

Now we dear readers know that this is not the case. We know that ERROR cannot live side by side with the Truth. Eventually, the individual sinner has to pick one side or the other. Here is the perfect example of a sinner who has picked sides a long time ago. But I digress…

And now, my reader Halina’s post. It represents what the intelligent Faithful know and struggle with daily, as they try to work out their salvation in fear and trembling:

The Vineyard of God (the Church) is devastated by none other, but the same Churchmen that Pope Francis has to convince that the Society of Saint Pius X, can be trusted. What a humility on the part of the good ‘shepherd’ of Jesus Christ, Bishop Fellay, always thinking of saving souls. They, the Churchmen (God knows them by name), are the movers and shakers of the massive loss of faith, massive Exodus from the holy Church, right into every stripe of man-made sects. Liturgical abominations, rejecting Holy Tradition, sodomy, but above all……massive loss of souls, and division amongst us Catholics, known only to God. “God Will Not Be Mocked!” Pope Francis, has enough Catholicism in him, to understand that his days are counted (as for all), and that the Merciful God will be his JUST JUDGE, so it was for each post-Vatican II pope. The SSPX is a reminder for these same Churchmen, and the pope, of what true Catholicism was yesterday, today, until the end of time. There’s no wonder and no mystery in this, all is clear as day, for those who have ‘eyes’ to see, and ‘ears’ to hear!

They, the Churchmen, especially, the silent, the cowards, who have in fear of ‘men’, rather then God, allowed the evil in the holy Church to reign!!! Is there a wonder, that they do not trust the SSPX, because they have to examine their own conscience, acknowledge the sin within, be reminded of the four last things; death, judgment, heaven and hell, which they have tried to suppress in their cowardice, lukewarmness, while promoting ‘universal salvation,’ deceiving legions, especially, themselves….Miserere!

By the grace of God, the faithful remnant are not blind, and storm Heaven with prayers, Holy Mass (not the Protestant Novus Ordo), sacrifices, penance and fasting, fighting the good fight armored with His Truth and His holy gifts. May God Have Mercy on His faithful. May His Mother, our Mother, hold still His Hand ….bring these men down to their knees to repent, or else.

God Willing, the SSPX by His grace, will do God’s Will, facing nothing less then the Roman Coliseum, for this is the mind and soul of these Churchmen, in the the Holy Church of Jesus Christ (for a little while, yet), that these ‘Churchmen’ because of SIN within, have created, truly unorthodox, anti-Catholic elements. Transforming the dogmatic Church of Christ into the democratic ‘church’ of man, where no thought is given to the integral sacredness of holy orthodoxy, to the venerable traditions of antiquity, to the teaching, and governing Magisterium, nor for that matter to the Sacred Heart Himself, whose wishes are conveyed to all men through His one Church. The primary thought is given to the whims, novelties and passions of the people. These so-called Churchmen (not all), Catholics in name only, who foolishly think that they have power…. maybe,…..but not from GOD!!!

Sancta Trinitas, unus Deus, miserere nobis!

I would also like to draw your attention to the below Stefan Molyneux video. His guest is Vox Day. The first 15 minutes are of importance. Two things, first the references to Our Lord and St. Paul in a secular, contemporary conversation about current events. Next, just how close these people are, and their ideas are, to the present POTUS.

And as a encore, go to the 1 hour and 10 minute mark. It’s worth the effort!
