Today we quickly look at an interesting development that has been brought to your humble bloggers attention on the Eponymous Flower Blog. (see here) But before we get into the subject matter, a few words to provide context.

In our post titled Synod of the Three Paragraphs that we originally published on the 14th of December 2014 (see here) we laid out our case, using our Pierce/Ockham methodology (see here), that the upcoming Synod of Bishops of 2015 will have as its main goal, what we termed the HIDDEN AGENDA, the changing of Catholic moral teaching regarding aberro-sexuality. Actually, we wrote that the upcoming Synod, which we dubbed the Stealth Sex Synod can be reduced to revolving around two words, i.e. INTRINSIC and DISORDERED. To be more precise, the Synod will be manipulated in order to purge Catholic moral teaching of natural moral law that states that aberro-sexual unions are INTRINSICALLY DISORDERED.

In a follow-up post titled Meet BIG GENDER from the 17th of February 2015 (see here), we established that what it behind this HIDDEN AGENDA is nothing more than the special interest groups that are lobbying for the introduction of Gender Ideology into various national legal statutes of targeted countries. In Germany, we have observed this BIG GENDER has use the German Bishops’ Conference hierarchy, i.e. Cardinal Reinhard “Bling” Marx to introduce Gender Ideology into the Church Labor law. Furthermore, it is this BIG GENDER that is now using the German representatives to the bi-Synods as a proxy in order to change Catholic moral teaching regarding sexuality by introducing Gender Ideology into the moral teaching of the universal Church.

In a post titled So It Was The Homo Agenda All Along from the 27th of May 2015 (see here), we provide anecdotal proof that we have been correct in our assertion (hypothesis) that… well… it was the homo agenda all along. It was this homo-agenda that served as the HIDDEN AGENDA at the Secret Synod of Bishops of 2014 and will serve as the HIDDEN AGENDA at the upcoming Stealth Synod of Bishops of 2015. The proof that we provided was in the form of a report from a “closed-door” meeting of the FORCES that are behind the attempt to subvert Catholic moral teaching, subsequently termed the “Alternative Synod”.  We noticed that the report from this secret one day meeting was exclusively focused on changing Catholic moral teaching with respect to aberro-sexuality. The other nominal issues, i.e. communion for divorced/remarried and concubinage was glanced over at best, suggesting that they are just fig leafs to cover up the HIDDEN AGENDA. We explained just this situation in our post titled Francis “Showing a Leg”. (see here)

Which brings us up to date and today’s additional evidence for our primary hypothesis that it is the change in Catholic moral teaching with respect to aberro-sexuality that is the TRUE AGENDA behind the bi-Synod of Bishop. If you dear reader recall, in a recent post titled Same-sex Union ⊂ Gender Ideology : The Cardinals Get It! from the 15th of June 2015 (see here), we laid out our observations that at least one cardinal, i.e. Card. Robert Sarah understands not only that same-sex unions are a SUBSET of Gender Ideology, but that Gender Ideology is the most dangerous of all the ideologies that the Catholic Church is fighting presently. Here is the relevant quote:

“ideologies to fight against today”[…] one of the most dangerous ideologies is that of gender,[…] that says that human sexuality does not depend on the identity of man and woman, but a sexual orientation, such as homosexuality…

Given that this is the case, it is with “amazement” that one reads the following text in the Eponymous Flower post titled Fight Against Human Trafficking, Fight for Gender-Ideology — From One the Vatican Distances Itself, the Other Not (see here): [emphasis added]

[There is] No distancing  from a children’s book series which will appear in the name of Pope Francis  for gender ideology. The Foundation Scholas Occurrentes, a worldwide network of schools was established on the initiative of Pope Francis in August 2013 at the Vatican. The Argentine newspaper Clarín have been publishing since spring 2015 in cooperation with the Pope Foundation in Spanish, the children’s book series, “With Francis at my side.” The children’s stories, which are now widely circulated in Spain, advertise homosexuality, transexuality and “new family forms”  on behalf of the Pope. The children’s book series is promoted with the image of Pope Francis, it was photographed at the Vatican.

Furthermore, the following is written:

The driving force behind the establishment of the foundation Scholas Occurrentes was also the Argentine Archbishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo. The establishment took place in a ballroom  run by Sorondo’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences. Both Scholas Occurrentes and the Vatican wash their hands in innocence. Nobody wants to have known something or anything to do with the contents of the children’s book series. A distancing has not taken place until today, although the book series coincides with Pope Francis’ image, stabbing Catholic initiatives in the back with the portrait, trying to clarify the aims of  gender ideology and roll back their influence.

The newspaper publisher  Clarín continues, meanwhile, negotiations with other newspaper publishers to translate the children’s books into other languages and spread them to other countries.

Concluding, how can one interpret this situation?

Just to briefly summarize what we are witness to:

Francis establishes the Foundation Scholas Occurrentes in 2013. The main driving force behind the Foundation initiative is Archbishop Marcelo “I hate Tea Parties” Sanchez Sorondo. This Foundation establishes a network of schools. This foundation is behind the publication of a series of children’s book that promote Gender Ideology. The Gender Ideology is promoted with images of Francis. The Vatican “washes its hands in innocence”, i.e. claims it doesn’t know anything about this situation. Yet the Vatican does nothing to stop it. Proof is that in the mean time, the publisher is continuing negotiations to publish these same Gender Ideology promoting books with Francis’ image with entities for translating and distribution into other countries and languages.

What can one say other than:

Wise Guys, aye!

dOn the Polonia Christiana website, an important article appeared. (see original here) I have taken the liberty to translate it. I am sure it will only be a matter of time until Giuseppe Nardi translates a fuller version and posts in on the Eponymous Flower blog, but in the mean time, I have reproduced the PCh24.pl post below for your review.

Note bene, I have not written about strategic aspects of the upcoming Synod of Bishops lately. This has been intentional, and two reasons are behind it. First is that this blog has identified the main issue that is driving the synod, and that is the change of Catholic teaching with respect to aberro-sexuality. (see here) The driving force is the German bishops with the entire Gender lobby behind them. (see here) The other issues, i.e. communion for divorced and remarried and concubinage is just a classical “head fake”. Or as we termed it, “showing a leg”. (see here) The second reason that I have not written about strategy is that I have noticed exactly this mood change that Herr von Gersdorff wrote about in the below article. I wrote about just this in the post titled 27 of February 2015. (see here) Since I also sensed the change of mood/tactics, along with others like the guys at Rorate Caeli and Fr. Z., I did not want to raise this issue so as not to cause anyone to let ones guard down. And here von Gersdorff confirms this approach to be a valid one.

And lastly, with respect to what is at play in the upcoming Synod of Bishops, it is actually two words. The two words are “intrinsically disordered”. (see here) Whatever else happens at this Synod, it is these two words and their treatment that will be crucial, and the third week of the Synod will be key.

Without going on too much further, the below post is translated and reproduced:

FOR THE RECORD

Mathias von Gersdorff: German bishops are changing strategy

The President of the German episcopate, Cardinal Reinhard Marx said recently that achieving “pastoral” reform at the upcoming Synod will not be easy and that patience is needed. The German progressives are likely to change strategy – according to Mathias von Gersdorff.

Cardinal Reinhard Marx has suggested at the beginning of July, that during the upcoming October session of the synod, a consensus will not be reached on the “reform” promoted by the German Church. He explained that changes in marriage, family and sexuality will “not be easy” and “have a long way to go”. He added that recently, in terms of preparatory work for the Synod, he has met many disappointments. He stressed that, although one should not bow to the spirit of the times, God also speaks to us through history. The hierarch spoke at a meeting chaired at his diocese of Munich, which was held on Thursday 9 July. The “Catholic Information Agency” commented that Cardinal. Marx ‘thus lowered expectations about the upcoming Synod “.

Mathias von Gersdorff notes that if the intention of Cardinal Marx, in fact, was to  “lower the expectations”, then “we are dealing here with an important change of strategy”. “The left-wing of German Catholicism hid last year nominally behind the liberal notions of Cardinal Walter Kasper, to admit remarried divorcees to Communion. But for those nominal Catholics themselves, the reforms were really about much more and began to quickly put forth more radical demands, “- writes von Gersdorff. “In their opinion, the Catholic sexual morality must adapt to the sexual revolution of 1968,” – he added. Support for such efforts on the part of the German bishops, is something new in Germany likewise.

Von Gersdorff also notes that “the delegation of the German Bishops’ to the upcoming Synod consists solely of liberals: Cardinal Reinhard Marx, archbishop elect of the Berlin Heiner Koch, the bishop of Osnabrück Franz-Josef Bode. This delegation is in no way representative of the German episcopate in the area relating to marriage and the family “. According to the German journalist, progressives decided that it was time “to push their unorthodox views on sexuality in the universal church”. For their purpose, they wanted to use the “synod in crude manner”.

Von Gersdorff indicates that such a plan provoked resistance in Germany likewise. One of the biggest critics of the liberals became bishop Stefan Oster. Against the Germans. lined up other hierarchs, including those from Africa. Success of the “reformers” at the synod is unlikely and that is why von Gersdorff thinks, that Cardinal Marx is now dampening hopes. Sensing a possible defeat, the cardinal wants the liberal environment of the German Church become consolidated.

“There has been, however, no attempt to call off the alarm: Marx, Bode and Koch clearly showed that they wish to liberalize or ease sexual morality. Cardinal Marx did not make his assertions with conviction – therefore his last speech should be seen as pure tactics, “- says Gersdorff.

Francis and H&S

In yesterday’s post titled TransRationalism and the “Sustainability” Issue (see here), your humble blogger provided a general description of the situation that is presently playing itself out in Greece. In our description of that situation, an intrinsic tradeoff became apparent. This implicit tradeoff is between adopting an irrational order, what we termed TransRationalism and the “sustainability” of the results borne by operating under the derivative TransRationalist order. This TransRationalist order is obviously erected in lieu of the “natural order”.

Specific to our example from the previous post, it would appear from the Greek example that we used, that the more intense the level of TransRationalism introduced into the Greek economic and fiscal order, the less sustainable that order has become. Summing up the above, one could say that there is not only a causal relationship, but also a negative correlation between the level of TransRationality introduced and the resulting “sustainability” of the resulting order.

Which brings me to the situation in the Catholic Church, which I mentioned that we would analyze today. With respect to the corresponding tradeoff in the Catholic ecclesiastical structures, we used the John Lamont analysis (see here) since it identified exactly just this TransRational phenomenon. Just as a reminder, here is the relevant passage:

The key to the neomodernist capture of power is however also the reason for their failure to sustain a religious culture. Neomodernism is not like Protestantism, which contains ideas with a positive content as well as being a rejection of Catholicism. These ideas – justification by faith, and the like – are not correct, but they say something substantial, and have an appeal that can give rise to an important movement. Neomodernism, however, on a religious level is a purely negative thesis. As a result it has no attractive force of its own, and ecclesiastical structures that fall into its grip eventually die away – a process now visible all over the world.

In the above passage, we can clearly identify this tradeoff  as one which can be stated as follows: a negative thesis containing no attractive force of its own AND the dying away of ecclesiastical structures that fall into its grip.

Therefore, the corresponding tradeoff can be presented as: the more neo-modernist theology (TransRationality) that is introduced into any given post-conciliar pope’s “theological teaching”, the faster the pace of the dying away of the ecclesiastical structures.

One easy way to identify and observe for that matter, this phenomenon of the quickening pace of the dying away of the ecclesiastical structures that fall into the TransRationalist’s theology’s grip is by observing the attendance of Faithful to both Francis’ general audiences and to St. Peter’s Square. Today we will focus on the later.

On the Call Me Jorge blog, I found this quite useful post, via Antonio Socci’s Facebook page, that demonstrates just this above described phenomenon. (see here) Here are some respective snapshots from various dates in chronological order:

26 February 2014

Francis 24G14

17 September 2014

Francis 17U15

11 February 2015

Francis 11G15

And here is a set of pictures taken from a wider angle:

26 February 2014

Francis 26G14

17 September 2014

Francis 17U151

11 February 2015

Francis 11G151

As is clear from the visual evidence above, the casual observer can clearly see supporting evidence that as Francis goes more TransRartional in his “teaching office”, the crowd levels in St. Peter’s Square have become lower. In other words, the TransRationality of Francis “teaching office” is introducing a higher level of “unsustainability” into the Catholic ecclesiastical structures.

Here is a bonus picture from the 11th of February 2015 just to drive this above point home:

Francis 11G152

Concluding thoughts. It is very apparent that whatever Francis strategy Lord’s pastoral call is, it is not working. Yes, Francis is getting positive media buzz, but he is not attracting the Faithful to Rome. As a matter of fact, looking through this visual evidence, it is blatantly obvious that Francis is repelling the Faithful presently.

Which should be a troubling development to the Catholic hierarchy since Francis himself wrote in Evangelii Gaudium, the apostolic exhortation that was designed to serve as the political ideological theological platform for the present papacy. (see here) Here is the relevant passage from the section headed “Time is greater than space:

One of the faults which we occasionally observe in sociopolitical activity is that spaces and power are preferred to time and processes. Giving priority to space means madly attempting to keep everything together in the present, trying to possess all the spaces of power and of self-assertion; it is to crystallize processes and presume to hold them back. Giving priority to time means being concerned about initiating processes rather than possessing spaces. Time governs spaces, illumines them and makes them links in a constantly expanding chain, with no possibility of return. What we need, then, is to give priority to actions which generate new processes in society and engage other persons and groups who can develop them to the point where they bear fruit in significant historical events. Without anxiety, but with clear convictions and tenacity.

From what we have observed above, the TransRationality that Francis has introduced into his “teaching office” has initiated process that are driving the Faithful away from Rome and by extension from the Catholic Church. And even though Francis claims that we should all be waiting “without anxiety, but with clear convictions and tenacity”, the problem with this approach is that what we are really waiting for is disaster. The same kind of disaster that the Greeks and their creditors are waiting for by introducing another bailout program exactly like the two previous bailout programs that are catastrophic failures.

Which leads to one question and that is this: how many more of these TransRational antics does Francis have up his sleeve before the cardinals say basta?

Followup question, wonder what the attendance figure will look like once Francis arrives back home with that spanking new hammer and cycle crucifix?

Greek Crisis IIWhile the Catholic world has been observing in horror and disgust the recent antics of Francis, the bishop of Rome on his South American excursion, (see here) other events half a world away have been transpiring, events that have an equally significant and quite dangerous impact on the secular aspects of today’s society. I am obviously referring to the situation that is playing itself out on the old continent between the Republic of Greece and its creditors, i.e. countries that have lent money to Greece. I have left this thread off in a recent post titled The Even Bigger Picture (see here), so a return to this post as a reminder of the issues is in order.

Just to refresh our collective memory, the reason that Greece and its particular situation is of interest to us is due to the theme that we began in the post titled Visibilium Omnium, et Invisibilium (see here) where we first laid out the similarities between what is happening in Greece and that which is happening in the Catholic Church under this pontificate. Our observation (hypothesis) is that what we are witnessing in both these cases is the logical progression of “post rational”, or as we termed it TransRational societies that are starting to come apart at the seams.  The way that these two processes of decomposition in Greece and in the Catholic Church tie in and the root cause of their respective problems is that both are governed by and must conform to an “objective natural order”, an “objective natural order” that is DEFINED in the CREDO (Nicene Creed), in the formulation […] omnium, et invisibilium.

And now on to Greece. We are using Greece to demonstrate a process. This process is one of a decomposition of a public order and by extension of a society. This decomposition process is something that we have identified and wrote about extensively in the Catholic Church. This same decomposition process is likewise very visible in the present situation in the Greece Crisis.

With respect to Greece, things have been moving very fast. Actually very, very fast. When we left off this theme in our post The Even Bigger Picture, the Greeks and the creditors (read: Germany) were ready to meet in a weekend summit where the parties were to negotiate a solution to the present predicament. What was known at that time was that the amount of debt that Greece had accumulated, from 100% (2010) to 180% (presently) of Gross Domestic Product was “unsustainable”. In other words, the chances that Greece could pay off this debt was very remote. As to the proof of the unsustainability of this debt, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) produced a document that confirmed this state of affairs. What also turned out to be the case, the European members (Germans) on the IMF Board of Directors tried to suppress this document from coming out before the referendum which was held in Greece a week earlier. Furthermore, this document also indicated that the IMF and the Europeans (Germans) knew in both 2010 and in 2012 that the debt that Greece was taking on in the 2010 and 2012 bailouts was unsustainable then. What this in turn means is that the IMF and Europeans negotiated two bailout packages not only in bad faith (HIDDEN INFORMATION) with the Greek government, but that these bailout packages would in no way allow the country to fix its economy in order to allow it to return to economic growth. The reason that Greece needed to fix its economy is that the unemployment rate of the general population has risen to 27%, with youth unemployment at approximately 60%. Therefore, the IMF and the Europeans were responsible for creating a situation where a country was forced to take on debt, consequently sacrificing Greece to perpetual destitution. The reason that Greece was sacrificed was so that the IMF and Europeans would not have to write off a part of the bad loans that they (their banks) made to Greece in the previous decade. In other words, Greece was sacrificed for political considerations of the creditors.

One side note is needed here. When one is dealing with what is termed “impaired debt”, i.e. debt that can not be paid back, the assumption is that both parties, i.e. borrower and lender are responsible for the situation, albeit to varying degrees. The borrower is responsible since he obviously can not service the debt, but the lender is also responsible since he extended the debt to someone who was not able to repay it. This is usually termed as the lender’s business risk. This business risk aspect of commercial lending (i.e. the interest earned from lending operations are due to taking risk) is something that has been understood since the mid 19th century, when bankruptcy laws were reformed and debtor prisons were eliminated.  Furthermore, in these types of situations, whether it is on a personal and corporate level, a bankruptcy allows for a restructuring that then allows for the individual or business to rehabilitate themselves in order to allow these entities to either better manage household expenditures or continue in their business endeavours. In the case of governments, these debt restructurings are usually resolved in arbitration committees. One of these arbitration committees is what is known as the Paris Club.

So today we pick up with a good explanation of exactly this process describe above with a passage from Michael Lebowitz from the 720 Global blog via the ZeroHedge blog. (see here) Notice that the author employs one our favorite analytical tools. (see here). The relevant passage reads as follows:

Occam’s Razor is a frequently quoted principle which states that when one is faced with a multitude of seemingly complex possibilities, the simplest approach or explanation is best. As the ECB and Greece fight over terms of yet another bailout we employ this principle to help better grasp Greece’s dire situation.

The ratio of debt to GDP is one of the most basic and popular measures used to determine the ultimate ability of a sovereign nation to service its debt. Consider a country which has a debt to GDP ratio of 100%, and a balanced budget (excluding interest payments). In this country, it can be said that the interest rate on its debt and the growth rate of its GDP must be equal for the ratio to stay unchanged. In this example a 2% interest rate with a 1% GDP growth rate would result in an increase from 100% to 101% in the debt to GDP ratio. As the ratio rises above 100%, the interest rate must be lower than the GDP growth rate or the ratio will continue to rise. At a debt to GDP ratio of 150%, a 2% interest rate would require a 3% growth rate to remain stable at 150%.

Greece has a current debt to GDP ratio of 170%, and based on current bailout terms, it will likely grow to well over 200%. So applying the logic from above, Greece’s GDP growth rate prior to the current bailout needed to be 1.70 times greater than the rate of interest Greece pays on its debt just to keep its ratio constant. Following are some facts which will allow us make judgements on Greece’s ability to improve or at least sustain their debt to GDP ratio:

Since 1970 Greece’s best 5-year annualized GDP growth rate was +1.50% with an average of +.46%. Over the past 10 years growth has averaged -0.50%.

Since 1997 Greece’s lowest 5-year average interest rate on 10 year bonds was 3.41% with an average of 7.50%. Over the past 10 years the average annual 10 year interest rate was 8.16%

Using Greece’s current debt to GDP ratio as summarized above, we present a best case forecast and a likely forecast for debt to GDP over the ensuing 10 years. For the best case we assumed Greece’s highest 1 year GDP growth rate (+2.74%) and lowest interest rate (3.58%). The likely case uses Greece’s average 1 year GDP growth rate (+0.45%) and average interest rate (7.55%).

In both examples we make the very bold assumption that Greece will run a balanced budget excluding interest expense. The results, as plotted below, are not encouraging.

Greece Debt Projection

So given the above, one has to ask oneself why are both Greece and its creditors (read: Germans) entering into an arrangement that not only does not resolve the “impaired debt” issue, but further exacerbates it? Obviously there are ulterior reasons on both sides that are driving this TransRational process. But what important here is to observe and note that this agreement will not reach the stated desired effects, i.e. return to economic growth in order to reduce the chronic unemployment in both the general workforce and especially with respect to the youth unemployment in Greece. Furthermore, both sides are cognizant of this fact. Summing up this agreement, it clearly falls in the TRANSRATIONAL column.

Which brings the thread back Francis and the situation within the Catholic Church. The recent trip South America,Francis the bishop of Rome went full “TRANSRATIONAL”. (see here) We will pick up this theme in the following post, but it needs to be stated that this issue of TRANSRATIONALISM is a major problem in Western post-Christian society and not just limited to the Catholic Church.

Concluding, Greece has a similar problem to that of the Catholic Church. This problem can be understood as an issue of “financial sustainability” resulting from the adoption of an intrinsically TransRational logic as the basis for the country’s economic and fiscal policy. In the case of Greece and its creditors, this TransRational logic created a situation where Greece was allowed to borrow funds at absurdly low-interest rates and in amounts that the country could never repay.

The root cause of the “sustainability” issues with respect to the Catholic Church are very similar. The major issue in the Catholic Church is the rapidly deteriorating membership base, with a corresponding declining revenue. The “ecclesial sustainability” in the Catholic Church also brought about by the adoption of an intrinsically TransRational logic (neo-modernist philosophy) as the basis of the Catholic Church’s theology. (see here)

If Greece can’t resolve its economic issues, the youth will migrate thereby depriving Greece of its tax base, a tax base that is needed to finance the public sector and the retirees. In the case of the Catholic Church, the loss of membership is creating the same effect whereby the Catholic Church is not able to finance its ecclesiastical structure, and will likewise wither away.

The major difference in the two above case however is this: the Greeks will be Greek whether in Greece or in the Greek diaspora. With respect to the situation with the Catholic Church, it is much, much more dire. For when the neo-modernist ecclesiastical structures disintegrate, the Faithful begin to lose access to not only the Catholic Church, but to the only means of salvation available to man.

But somehow, no one in Francis’ immediate circle seems to be all that concerned.

Laudato no IHere is how the before and after word clouds for Laudato Sii look.

BEFORE:

LS Word Cloud I

AFTER:

Word Cloud II

Can you spot the word “Jesus” in the “theologically structured” version of the encyclical? PS I circled it.

As you dear reader will no doubt notice, your humble blogger took out the “Page” from the Laudato Sii, but kept the settings at the most frequent 150 words. So “God” comes up to third most used word, after “human” and “world”.

As we can see, Jesus plays a minor role in this encyclical. Actually, we can rightfully claim that Jesus is a “prop” in this one. Jesus first appears in paragraph 82 and appears a grand total of 23 times out of 40,574 words with headings, footnotes and songs included. This strikes me as a bit odd since Jesus is central to the “teaching magisterium” of Francis. Here is a good example from the 22nd of January of this year: (see here)

That Jesus is savior and intercessor is the central point, and we do well to remember this. “Thus, the crowd seeks Jesus with that instinctive sense of hope that is proper to the people of God, which was at that time awaiting the Messiah, and they look to find in Him health, truth, salvation, for He is the Savior and as Savior even now, at this moment, intercedes for us. That our Christian life might be ever more convinced that we are saved, that we have a Savior, Jesus at the right hand of the Father, interceding. May the Lord, the Holy Spirit, make us understand these things.”

Apparently Jesus as intercesor and provider of hope in not required with respect to global warming. Which taken at face value, is a positive takeaway from this “encyclical”.

St AloysiusMore good news from the Restoration Front.

For regular readers of this blog, you will know that when we aren’t exclusively focusing on the upcoming Stealth Sex Synod™ of 2015, our mission is defined as “dedicated to chronicling the “Restoration of all thing in Christ”.

As to The Restoration itself, one can reduce The Restoration into two categories. One will no doubt observe that there is a postive aspect to the Restoration and a negative aspect to The Restoration. And in both these cases, the figures are positive.

An example of a positive case for The Restoration can be see in a recent post that appeared on the New Liturgical Movement website. (see here) In the post, information is provided about another regular Immemorial Mass of All Ages coming online at the Church of the Assumption in the diocese of Nashville Tennessee. A big Deo Gratias!

An example of a negative case for the Restoration can be seen at the Catholic Heirarchy website. Here the news is also very good with resepct to the recently published 2014 statistics for the Society of Jesus. It would appear that in 2014, the Society lost a net 191 priests and net 279 male religious. The even better news is that it lost 38 parishes. Here is a snap shot of the results: (see here)

SJ stats 2014Furthermore, the news is even better. Seeing as we are already midway through 2015, it could be likely that the Society has fallen below 12,000 priests and definitely fallen below 17,000 male religious.

To paraphrase Francis, bishop of Rome, we are dealing with a religious order whose mission on earth is coming to an end.

“You Go Girl”!

PS Here is also a good article about heretics neo-modernist manipulations at Vatican II. (see here) Now there are two ways which we can look at this situation. One is as per article. The alternative interpretation is that once the last of the < 12,107 Society priest and their neo-modernist associates pass on, there will be no one to make the claim that Vatican II had anything to do with the Catholic Faith. 🙂

Broken Crozier

ROME: THE AGE OF EMPTINESS

Father Pio Pace

The entire world was able to see on their screens, when of the recent papal voyage to Sarajevo, that the pontifical cross, that had broken, was taped back with surgical tape: “A complete symbol!” said with irony the prelates of the pontifical entourage. Yes, a complete symbol. The Church of Peter, in the 21st century, awaits an encyclical…on the environment. It is bad for one or two persons to be alone in a car because that increases the greenhouse-effect gases, so saith the Magisterium of the Holy Catholic Church…

I name my piece after the essay, The Age of Emptiness (in Italian, L’era del vuoto, Luni, 1995), written by the way with a completely different purpose than mine by French thinker Gilles Lipovetsky. But it seems to me to express well the impression that everyone shares today, more or less, about the current pontiff, now that the stunning “state of grace” from which he benefited for a time has decreased and that the crowds at the Wednesday general audiences go back to normal levels.

An article by Julius Müller-Meininger, in Die Zeit (Helmut Schmidt’s paper, which is somewhat like our Repubblica, but by the Rhine) on April 30, 2015, Jetzt hat es auch ihn erwischt, expresses well what the journalists who were most favorable to Francis now feel: “What does he want, after all?” Müller-Meininger, who cruelly remarks, by the way, that the inconsistency of the pontifical sayings are each time more openly mocked (“To be sick, is to have an experience of our fragility”), explains why the media are unsettled regarding the pope. He quotes Italian transsexual activist Vladimir Luxuria: “I do not understand him. He follows at the present time the policy of the carrot and the stick. In the beginning, the words are of opening, and in the present, an attack against gender ideology. Francis is in an impasse. I am disappointed.”

The impasse is that of a moral opening in a liberal sense that one must, in the end, either satisfy or deny. The matter that particularly concerns Müller-Meiningen is that of the proposal made by the French government of naming Laurent Stéfanini ambassador before the Holy See. A man who is very competent in religious affairs, a practicing Catholic, but a homosexual. As other ambassadors before the Holy See and, alas, as members of the diplomatic corps of the Holy See itself… Except that Stéfanini does not live scandalously as a couple. He is simply known for having bad tendencies to which he may perhaps — only his confessor could say it, and would never say it — fall at times.

Now, against his aides at the Secretariat of State, who remarked to him that there are Muslim, or Communist ambassadors before the Holy See, or those who are frequent goers to establishments of debauchery, etc., and that they were nevertheless accepted as ambassadors, Francis decided, him alone and all by himself, that Stéfanini would not receive the agrément by the Apostolic See. It is undoubtedly his personal animosity against François Hollande, that equals that he feels against Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the president of Argentina, that explains this fit of authoritarianism, classic for him: he is convinced that François Hollande named Stéfanini out of anticlerical spite. Which is not impossible – but at the same moment in which he has this attack of “rigorism”, the same Francis went back on the ban of funds being given by the Holy See to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), a ban decided by John Paul II due to the strong campaigns in favor of contraception organized or funded by UNICEF.

It is true that Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences and the mind begind this rapprochement with UNICEF is one of the Friends of the Pope — which, in today’s Rome, which has become more of a Court than ever, allows all things and covers all sins. Also a Friend of the Pope, the Secretary of the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, Franciscan José Rodríguez Carballo, who was Superior of the Franciscans from 2003 to 2013, time during which stunning financial affairs brought the Order to the brink of bankruptcy. Also a Friend of the Pope, Monsignor Battista Ricca, in charge of all great priestly houses in Rome (via della Scrofa, via della Traspontina, Casa Santa Marta…), named prelate of the Vatican Bank, and who had left a scandalous reputation as diplomat in Uruguay. Also a Friend of the Pope, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Council for the Family, who has been placed under police investigation for criminal conspiracy, obstruction, fraud against the municipality of Narni, abuse of funds and embezzlement during the time when he was bishop of Terni. “Who am I to judge?”

The most annoying point in all of this is that we cannot see a clear line of government. One has the impression only of rehearsals — to avoid saying stubbornness — of a man who, despite his age, exercises his authority with passion, delivering decisions in all directions. How to explain, for instance, the apparent positive tone to the Society of Saint Pius X, and, on the other hand, the no to the Franciscans of the Immaculate? The activity is loud yet muddled, and the great announcements end up lost in the sand: no one still believes in an actual reform of the Curia, considering the totally inefficient way in which the group of nine cardinals in charge of it works. Even with more reason when we hear its chairman, the indescribable cardinal Maradiaga, announce for instance that all the courts of the Apostolic See could be united in a single body…

Under these conditions, the October Synod could well seem like an Epiphany…of emptiness. It is very likely that Francis has already found out that the theses of which Cardinal Kasper had been one of the greatest champions, could not lead to a modification of the doctrine of the Church without provoking significant divisions. Some think that he believed, in his somewhat impressionistic theological way, that formulas could be found to open the door to a permission, in a certain number of cases, granted to divorced and remarried persons, to accede to the Sacraments of the Church, by playing mercy against “rigorism”, “pastoral” against dogma.

But it is much more probable that the Pope measured precisely, since the beginning, what he should expect essentially from this immense undertaking: noise, a lot of noise, a huge amount of noise. Much noise for nothing. Because, if the Synod purely and simply confirms the traditional doctrine of the Church, the image of a pontificate that should lead to great changes will collapse. If, on the contrary, the Synod pleases the Kasperites, it will provoke a non possumus by a considerable number of cardinals and bishops. Well, then, the bishop will say nothing, with all the adequate balances to do so. Therefore, we will have had two assemblies of the Synod of Bishops, a considerable mass of ecclesiastical literature, of declarations, of press statements in all senses, a simmering not known since the last Council — all for nothing. For nothing? Except that the teaching of the Church in the name of the Gospel is left practically silent. Except that the sheep are left without direction: on the ground, the priests who wish to do so, give the Sacraments calmly to adulterous and homosexual couples, and even bless them in church.

We can then speak of a pontificate of revelation, of completion. 2015 is the year of the jubilee of the Council, that ended in 1965. Have you noticed that we do not mention the Council in Rome anymore? This is undoubtedly because, 50 years later, the Second Vatican Council is now fully realized, incarnated.

SJ PreSeeing as we are quickly approaching the 100 day mark to the commencement of what we have termed the Stealth Sex Synod™ of 2015, today we are 112 days away, and the release of the Global Warming Encyclical Laudato Sii, that will be released tomorrow, this blogger will continue the latter thread that we started yesterday. To be perfectly honest, this encyclical is actually a large part of the TEAMFRANCIS strategy Lord’s pastoral call to the run up to the Synod of Bishops, a topic that we will explore in greater detail in future posts.

Back to Laudato Sii. As anyone who has been following the scandal that is being caused by this “novel” Global Warming Encyclical, the proverbial fur has been flying. The “upset” parties for the most part, are members of the FrancisChurch, who feel that Francis, the orthodox schismatic and the atheist that will be presenting this encyclical to the world, have lost the BIG MO going into tomorrow’s release and conference.

Needless to say, the target of the FrancisHate™ is the Italian journalist Sandro Magister. To be more precise, the issue is whether Magister’s release of the encyclical, the one that he obtained from “his sources” in any way broke the embargo on the release of this official document. And I, your humble blogger got dragged into this heated argument on Fr. James Martin’s SJ Facebook page.

Just to set up this exchange, I was reading through FB, minding my own business when I ran across this entry:

SJ IAnd as you dear reader can see, your humble blogger made an attempt at a fraternal correction, not to mention getting another Spiritual Works of Mercy under my belt (to instruct the ignorant), to which a quite emotional response from Fr. Martin S.J. was forthcoming. On an aside, Fr. Martin is a Jesuit priest, a writer, and editor-at-large of the Jesuit magazine America. (see here) But I digress…

So naturally, I attempted to present the facts:

SJ IIAnd naturally, the response was we can clearly read above. Please note, at this point, we are dealing with a small “c”atholic priest who is… how shall I say this… “bearing false witness” against Sandro Magister. Not only that, he is also leading his readers (souls) astray due to his obstinacy, best case scenario. But back to the story…

At this point, some of Fr. Martin’s readers joined the conversation:

SJ IIIAs we can read above, the subject matter starts veering off the road into a discussion typical for FrancisChurch, i.e. ethics, ethical dilemma’s, “antagonistic reporters, not to mention conspiracy theory, etc. Yet up to now, the argument is a “he said, she said” argument (logical fallacy – appeal to authority).

What is more than a bit disconcerting however, it still has not registered to these people…”catholics” that they might be running afoul of the 8th Commandment, Fr. Martin included. Here was my reply:

SJ III_5To which, the following appeared:

SJ IVSo this debate ended when the FrancisChurch designated “wizened US Vaticanista with no axe to grind” Mr. Allen confirmed that Sandro Magister did not break any “ethical” rules and that the document that he released was not under any embargo.

Concluding, the reason why I reproduced this thread is to demonstrate the dire situation of the mindset of the average US catholic layman and cleric 50 years after the “advent of the new springtime of Vatican II”. As we can see from the exchanges above, neither the laypeople or the cleric even considered that they could be wrong. They were acting instinctively. It is nothing different from them assuming that their political party was under attack, so they came into this discussion reflexively, with talking points in hand and guns blazing. They never even gave it a second thought that they could be wrong.

Furthermore, no matter how irrational the above behavior was at the time of the posting, not one of these individuals stopped to consider the severity of taking such a position with respect to their spiritual wellbeing afterwards. Not one of these folks stopped to considered that they were breaking the 8th Commandment. Wonder if they ever contemplated it? The reason that one needs to ask this question is that not one of these people came back and apologized since they most likely cast false aspersions on one of their fellow-man.

Looking at this less than seemly episode, is it any wonder that the institution that is the post conciliar church is disintegrating before our very eyes. One has to wonder what benefits or value does the post conciliar Catholic Church bring to XXI century society? If the Catholic Church is the faithful and if the catholic faithful are not taught nor understand the basic tenants of their faith, tenants that force these faithful to think rationally, objectively and critically, how in the world can they be in a position to propose positive, effective and meaningful “change” to the world that exists around them?

The short answer is that they can’t.

The longer answer is that these FrancisChurch people, whether it’s Francis, Archbishop Fernandez, Fr. Martin or his commenters, are not really in any position to bring anything worthwhile or meaningful to the wider global discussion, whether it’s spiritual or secular.

An excellent case in point of the above is the fate of the Aparecida Document, the brainchild of Cardinal Bergoglio (see here), that this document has suffered under the Francis papacy. To be more precise, not only do Francis’ coreligionists not put too great weight behind this document, they don’t even know what the thing means. Here is the relevant text from the Eponymous Flower blog: (see here)

The Fifth General Conference of Latin American Bishops’ Council in 2007 in Aparecida, whose final document was then still largely dominated by Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aires,  was in the forefront  of Latin American church leaders. Pope Francis register [stated] “exactly” that there are cardinals and bishops who never mention Aparecida. In turn, [it] can be heard by high church officials that they did not understand the “reforms of Francis”. And ever is the “model Buenos Aires” simply not applicable to the whole Church. It would involve “an experience, but not “the” experience of the Church.

So the question than becomes, what is the point of creating another document, even with the “theological structuring” of this document safely in cardinal Muller’s hands, (see here) that is in fact a “son of Aperacida” ?

You dear reader will have to stay tuned to find out.

But I will give you a hint: It is not what you think it is!

I will write more on just this topic over the next couple of days.

LS Word Cloud IJust finished speed reading the Laudato Sii encyclical.

The best way to depict this document is through a word cloud as per above. The above word cloud has the 150 most used words ex common words. A few observations are as follows:

1) The Bergoglian “Jesus” (Circled) does not figure prominently in this one I am afraid. I suspect this was done not to offend the heretics, heathens, … and the Muslims, a.k.a. the UN crowd. Atheists, masons and other free thinkers were completely sacrificed. But it was done for a good cause so I am sure they understand.

2) “King” appears more often than “Jesus”. I am assuming that Francis wants to get across that the  message is being “relayed” from up above, and the Big Guy up above is a serious Dude. So the notion of a “King” comes in handy.

3) “God” obviously is used quite often. Once again, it is to emphasis to those simpleton “catholics” that this matter is urgent. So important in fact, that the said Atheists, masons and other free thinkers were completely sacrificed.

4) “Human” is the big winner in terms of the word most often used. No surprise there. Has been that way since… oh….. 1965 or so. So it’s par for the course.

5) “Page” is the word that appears the most after “Human”. The reason that “Page” is used so often is due to this document being so long. 191 as I count it on the google translate. (Mea Culpa for using google goes out to Mundabor) NB: I just left the page numbers in the word selection so that you dear reader would get a feel for the length of this puppy.

6) “World” appears the most after “Human” and “Page”. It is the order of magnitude of these individual words, that give a good ideal as to the priorities of this document. And it has absolutely nothing to do with salvation of souls.

7) In terms of the word count “losers”, after “Jesus” is the word “Mercy”. I count one appearance. Oh well, so much for the Pontificate of Mercy.

8) “Justice” or “Injustice” is used 69 times. Yes!!!!! But the word “mercy” is not even on the same page as any of the “justices”.

9) Very self referential is also a good way to describe this document. Evangelii Gaudium keeps on being linked to repeatedly.

I will leave off here.

But before I sign off, this is how the 20,000 word cloud looks:

SubsetsToday we pick up and continue the thread from our post titled Filling in the Blanks for Francis. (see here) This subject matter is of critical importance since it defines the essence of the HIDDEN AGENDA that played itself out at the Secret Synod of Bishops last year and will be the key issue at the upcoming Stealth Sex Synod™ of 2015. And as we have demonstrated, as early as the 18th of December of 2014 to be precise, in our post titled Synod of the Three Paragraphs, (see here) this HIDDEN AGENDA is nothing other than to change Catholic doctrine with respect to aberro-sexuality.

In our analysis to date, this blog has provided numerous examples demonstrating that the determined effort to change Catholic doctrine on aberro-sexuality has very little if anything to do with addressing the issue of lapsed Catholics, in order to bring them back into the pews and back to the path of salvation. Hence the HIDDEN AGENDA. We could have used numerous anecdotal evidence from the experience of other protestant sects that changed their moral teaching with respect to same-sex unions, i.e. aberro-sexuality, only to realize that the change did not have the desired effect. Yet it is this desired effect that the German Bishops’ Conference hierarchy claim will be achieved if the Catholic Church follows those sects in instituting these disastrous changes.

The evidence that this blog has repeatedly used to demonstrate the disastrous effects of changing doctrine with respect to same-sex unions, i.e. aberro-sexuality, is the translation of the Markus Günther article that was published on December 29, 2014 in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, one of the largest and most reputable newspapers in Germany, and translated on The Radical Catholic blog, titled Church in Crisis: Diaspora Germany. (see here)  In this article, Herr Günther writes the following:

But why are the seekers no longer finding guidance? Why are the supply and demand no longer jibing? The most popular answer to this question is: because the Church is no longer relevant to the times. She must conform more closely to the realities of the lives of modern people. Initially, that sounds plausible, but under closer scrutiny reveals itself to be idiocy. For the Evangelical church in Germany has done nearly everything which is being demanded from the Catholic Church in order to become more relevant to the times: women priests, the elimination of celibacy, liberality in moral theology, the complete acceptance of homosexuals and the divorced. If these were the real reasons for the malaise of Christendom, the Protestants should be far better off than the Catholics. But that simply isn’t the case. A second error in thinking is introduced by the popular buzzword “relevant to the times” [German: zeitgemäß, which can mean “modern,” “suitable,” or even “appropriate,” and often carries all of these shades when applied to the Church]: Wherever the Church does not base herself upon timeless, incontrovertible truth, she reveals herself to be purely man-made. Political programs should be “relevant to the times,” entertainment programming, too; but a religion must take command of absolute truths – or it is no religion at all.

This blog uses this text quite frequently since it not only caused “something of a stir in the German Catholic community”, but the “stir” that it caused could not have went unnoticed by that part of the German Catholic Church hierarchy who are trying to institute these changes against evidence, anecdotal as it were for the time being, that clearly suggests that their stated efforts will be futile.

Therefore, if the German Episcopate hierarchy is claiming that the aim of their AGENDA is to bring the lapsed German Catholics back to the pews through changing Catholic Church teaching with respect to aberro-sexuality, then the above evidence suggests that their approach is at best misguided. Or to paraphrase Cardinal Kasper, this attempt to change Catholic doctrine should be reflected upon widely and the German Episcopate needs further study on the matter. Yet we hear nothing of the sort. This suggests that the REAL AGENDA of that part of the German hierarchy that comprises what we termed TEAMFRANCIS at the last Secret Synod is driven by something other than the intent to draw back those lapsed Catholics. Once again, hence the HIDDEN AGENDA.

Given the above, we have also noticed another problem with TEAMFRANCIS’ fallacious assumption that a change in the Catholic doctrine with respect to aberro-sexuality will draw back those lapsed Catholics, and that is this. The problem is simply due to the fact that the numbers of “catholics” that this change would affect is numerically insignificant. To demonstrate this point, this blog has linked to a post written by Louie Verrecchio at the Harvesting the Fruit blog, (see here) where the following back of the envelope calculation is provided:

Let’s take a moment to consider just how urgent that need is, or is not, by applying some common sense to what we know to be true; beginning with the fact that less than 2% of the population is “homosexual.”

Now, even though it’s no secret that homosexuals as a whole are notoriously promiscuous (i.e., they’re not exactly the “marrying” type), let’s just say for the sake of argument that every last one of them is in an allegedly “stable” (don’t laugh) so-called “same-sex union.”
This would mean that of the general population, less than 1% is comprised of a “unit” that one might consider a “same sex couple” (assuming that they connect in twos in spite of this being dangerously close to adhering to a “norm”).

The LBGT activist group known as GLADD claims that roughly one-quarter of same sex couples are raising children.

While there is every reason to suspect that this too is a deliberately inflated figure, playing along for the sake of argument would mean that less than .25% of the general population is comprised of that unit known as “people living in a same sex union raising children.”
Of this group, how many self-identify as Catholic?

In the United States, the figure among the general population is slightly less than 25%. Surely, it is lower among active homosexuals, but let’s just apply that 1-in-4 figure to these couples as well, setting aside the fact that both “partners” aren’t necessarily of the same religion, just for the fun of it.

This would mean that only .0625% (that’s roughly 6 out of 10,000!) of the general population is comprised of that unit known as a “same sex couple that identifies as Catholic raising children.”

Now, of this statistically insignificant group of people, how many are banging on the rectory door “requesting baptism” for their kids?

The obvious answer? Practically none!

Given these two pieces of evidence provide above, the common sense explanation as to the motivation behind the TEAMFRANCIS effort to change Catholic doctrine with respect to aberro-sexuality lies outside the simple explanation of drawing wayward “catholics” back into the pews.

Therefore, it is hard under normal circumstances to explain this obvious anomaly described above, i.e that not only is the number of lapsed “catholics” that will be affected by the change in Catholic doctrine with respect to aberro-sexuality insignificant, but the past experience of protestant sects that introduced these novelties, the introduction of these novelties did not translate into higher “return rates”. In fact, the introduction of these novelties only quicken the disintegration of their existing congregations. But this is for a different post and excuse the digression… Therefore, we have taken out our Peirce/Ockham pragmatic methodology and Occam’s razor, (see here) and our analysis has determined that the logical and most likely explanation of this observed phenomenon is that TEAMFRANCIS is trying to introduce Gender Ideology into Catholic moral doctrine.

The background to this contention we laid out in our post titled Meet Big Gender. (see here) In this post, we laid out our case for this hypothesis and made the following concluding statement:

And it would appear, that the Synod of Bishops of 2015 will be just the next battleground where the forces of BIG GENDER led by Francis, the Synod Manipulators and the German hierarchy will square off against the forces of Catholicism led by the Poles.

Given this third piece of evidence (data point) it would appear as if the goal of  TEAMFRANCIS is to change Catholic doctrine with respect to aberro-sexuality so as to, de facto introducing Gender ideology into the Catholic moral teaching and by extension into the Church’s Magisterium.

So given our assertion with respect to the situation described above, is there any evidence that Francis or the Catholic hierarchy understand that by introducing the acceptance of same-sex unions into Catholic moral teaching, this will be tantamount to introducing Gender ideology into the Catholic Magisterium through the back door?

To answer this question, it would appear as if someone, and at a very high level of not only the Catholic hierarchy but the Curia itself, Cardinal Burke aside, has figured this out. Here is a passage from an interview with Cardinal Robert Sarah that we quoted in our post titled Filling in the Blanks for Francis:

In answer to which ideologies to fight against today, the Cardinal unmasked the deceit and lack of true love behind them. “Today one of the most dangerous ideologies is that of gender, according to which there are no ontological differences between man and woman, and the male and female identity would not be written in nature. … To say that human sexuality does not depend on the identity of man and woman, but a sexual orientation, such as homosexuality, is a dreamlike totalitarianism, and is a real ideology which negates the reality of things. … I don’t see a future in such deceit.”

So just to restate what Card. Sarah said, he said that one of the “ideologies to fight against today”[…] one of the most dangerous ideologies is that of gender,[…] that says that human sexuality does not depend on the identity of man and woman, but a sexual orientation, such as homosexuality…

Could not have said it better myself!

Summa summarum, what we have from the information above is the following: a group of Catholic hierarchs are determined to change Catholic doctrine by introducing aberro-sexuality as an acceptable behaviour and compatible with Catholic moral/magisterial teaching. The evidence suggests that the number of lapsed “catholics” that this change would affect is insignificant. Furthermore, the evidence also suggests that the protestant sects that introduced similar novelties into their moral teaching, not only did not experience the desired effect but actually experienced a more rapid deterioration in the numbers of their existing congregations. Therefore, these stated reasons given by TEAMFRANCIS for the promotion of their AGENDA cannot possibly be the true reasons. And finally, these novelties that these Catholic hierarchs, collectively termed as TEAMFRANCIS are attempting to introduce, whether consciously or not, is none other than Gender ideology.

Other Catholic hierarchs in turn, are aware of this situation. To be more precise, other leading and influential Catholic hierarchs are aware that same-sex unions is a part of the larger Gender ideology.

And finally, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, the Bishop of Rome has repeatedly warned, whether consciously or not about the dangers of Gender ideology, going as far as comparing it to “nuclear arms”. (see here)

So it would appear that it is simply a question of connecting the dots.

To make it even simpler and using mathematical terminology, “same-sex unions” are nothing more than a subset of “Gender ideology”.

The mathematical notation is as follows:

Same-sex Union ⊂ Gender Ideology

Now can someone please explain this to Francis!

What Francis Defines As His Magisterium

"Look, I wrote an encyclical, true enough, it was a big job, and an Apostolic Exhortation, I´m permanently making statements, giving homilies; that´s teaching."
